Gone Now Forever (They All Are Alone)

By L J Furman

He dreamed of his family from the hundred-tenth   floor

His son then was thirteen the baby turned four

He went straight home at night, a family man,

He just went to work, I just don’t understand

Gone now forever never comin' home

Gone now forever his kids are alone

The baby’s a big girl loved her daddy so much

learned to run running to him, to the strength in his touch

one day he was there and then he was gone

a hole in her heart blocked out the sun

Gone now forever never comin' home

Gone now forever his kids are alone

The boy found ways to shut down his brain

He’s now a young man who fought thru the pain

For his father, for his mother, for his sister, he’d kill

But for oil or revenge he’s just not got the will.

Gone now forever never comin' home

Gone now forever his kids are alone

Torn from our grasp and gone now forever

We have pictures and memories forever to treasure

The photos on the wall the stories never told

Like Adam and Eve supposed to grow old

The father the husband the man straight and true

Went to work that cold Tuesday; the last thing he’d do.

Gone now forever never comin' home

They all are together and somehow less alone
